Several styles dominate the South. One style is casual with dormers, symmetrical windows and a covered front porch. This style combines elements from many different American home styles. Another predominant Southern house style is the Southern Plantation style home which is a grand home with opulent features, grand entries and staircases. The focal point of this home is the front porch with a beautiful balcony above. While the styles above are most prevalent, many styles can be found throughout the South including Beach/Coastal homes, Mediterranean homes, Spanish homes, Sunbelt designs and even Lowcountry homes.
