Spanish House Plans
The Spanish Home style, also known as Spanish Revival or Spanish eclectic, was inspired by the architecture of Spain and Latin America, emphasizing ornate details and vibrant colors. The Spanish Home style is rarely seen outside the Southwest, Texas and Florida since their thick walls create cool interiors well suited for Southern climates. Spanish style homes have a low-pitched red-tiled roof, a stucco wall surface and heavy ornamentation. Ornamentation includes wrought-iron window and door hardware, heavily carved and shaped columns and patterned tile or ceramic floor treatments. Other features predominant in Spanish style homes are balcony railings, arched entryways and low round or square towers. This style adds a vibrant history to the warmer climates of the United States thanks to its colorful exterior and intricate details making homes designed in this manner feel custom and most definitely unique. |
